Residential Building on Miroslav Krlezha Street No. 27
Buildings/The residential building at Miroslav Krlezha Street No. 27 was designed by the architect Ivan Artemushkin in 1932.
The building is positioned at the corner of a perimeter block, broken into three planes, with two street façades that follow the street frontage of the block, and a party wall façade, concavely pulled back from the corner of the block. It develops into a basement, ground floor, two upper floors, and an attic. The basement is designed for cellar spaces, while the ground floor, upper floors, and attic are designed for residential units, with rooms oriented towards the streets, and service areas located in the rear zone towards the interior of the block. The attic apartments in the rear zone are set back from the façade line, creating open terraces, while the front part includes non-functional space due to the height of the ceiling.
The building has two recessed entrances, placed next to each other, with separate staircase cores that are naturally lit, dividing the building into two parts. Each floor provides access to one apartment from each core. The building features a fully purified façade, a clean volume with window openings, with a single emphasis on the horizontals at the separating cornice and façade treatment with panels in the basement.
